Meet the Hosts

  • Robin Reed

Robin Reed is known for his work in television meteorology in Roanoke, Virginia and as a professor at the Virginia Tech School of Communication. But his passion has shifted in recent years to farming in Fincastle, Virginia. He and his wife Teresa own Twin Cedars Fincastle LLC where they grow pumpkins and wildflowers.

  • Tara Williamson

A lifelong learner, Tara’s insatiable curiosity knows no limits (though it may benefit from a few boundaries). With a background in paleontology and literature, how she ended up farming appears quite the mystery, but it has been the most rewarding, vexing, and enlightening experience yet (second to raising her family).

She met her husband, Tom Williamson, while attending Virginia Tech, and together they embarked upon the adventure of reimagining the family farm and growing their agricultural business—Forgotten Fields by Williamson Farms—from the soil up.

Though her heritage is entirely Appalachian, she was born and raised in Loudoun County, giving her the unique experience of being accustomed to both stunning farmland and the effects of urbanization on the local physical and societal landscape.
